Arts For The Parks announces its 22nd annual call to traditional artists, digital artists and photographers for “The Arts For Parks 2008 Competition”.
Inspired by the spirit of pioneer landscape artists such as Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt and Carl Rungius, to name a few, this 22nd instalment of Arts For The Parks presents to the public the beauty and grandeur of our parks as portrayed by some of the world’s leading artists.
Winning artists are given the chance to show their work to a large audience of particularly appreciative art lovers. They stand to receive one of over 15 prestigious awards and compete for over $15,000 in cash prizes. Their work will be displayed in exhibitions in Washington DC and throughout the country.
Take your place beside the prestigious winners of past competitions such as Barry Raybould, Richard Schmid, Michael Coleman, Lanford Monroe, Ken Carlson and Dean Mitchell to name just a few.
The Grand Prize, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal winners will be awarded cash prizes and have their artwork published as limited edition, museum quality prints. Additional licensed merchandise containing their images may be included in books, posters, calendars, note-cards, and other commemorative merchandise. Top 100 finalists will have their works displayed and have their artwork sold as open-ended prints.
Winning artists will be featured in a media relations campaign aimed at print, broadcast and online media.
The deadline to submit your entry is August 31, 2008. The Early Bird Entry Fee is $40 through May 31, 2008 and $50 thereafter. The final deadline is August 31, 2008. Additional art may be submitted for $20 per Entry. A separate Entry Form is required for each additional Entry.
As in the past, we are priveleged to include the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) as a major partner in our mission.
The National Parks Conservation Association is America’s only private, non profit advocacy organization dedicated solely to protecting, preserving, and enhancing the National Park System and expends amounts approaching $20 million annually in support of those goals. In addition to the potential for Prizes and Awards, every participating artist receives a $25 membership in the NPCA, a subscription to National Parks Magazine, and a heavy duty fleece blanket bearing the NPCA logo as special recognition for participation and support.

All entries are processed online. Go to the right hand sidebar, scroll down to Artist’s Corner and click on Entry Form 2008. You will be able to enter there.
I am still waiting for you to publish or let us know where the top 100 for 2007 can be viewed. Also in what gallery and where can we view the 2007 entries? It seems the 2007 competition has not be fulfilled and you are already taking entries for the 2008 competition. I am confused as to why there has been no activity on this website since the beigining of March 2008. Awaiting a reply – Diana
